Counseling

There are many avenues of support open to participants in the JET Programme

Your first line of defense is the people at your Contracting Organization. Your boss, your co-workers and your friends can help you out. Do not be afraid to ask them questions. They are more likely to know about local problems and be able to solve your problems quickly.

P.A.’s are JETs who work for the prefecture. They can provide support to both JETs and contracting organizations

The JETLINE is a confidential and anonymous phone line. The councilors are former JETs who can answer questions and provide counseling. The phone number for the JETLINE is 03-3591-5489.

AJET established it’s own support line called the AJET Peer Support Group. It is confidential and anonymous. It is open from 20:00 – 7:00. It is the only English support line operated at night. The phone number is 0120-43-7725

The Tokyo English Life Line or TELL also provides free and anonymous counseling. It is open from 9 AM to 11 PM. The phone number is 03-5774-0992
